The following relates to the recently crashed Air NZ plane off the southern French coast::
Authorities have recovered the second black box from the wreckage of the Air New Zealand Airbus plane that went down off the coast of southern France.
The data recorder holds all flight details of the Air Bus A320 and investigators hope it will reveal why the plane crashed during its test flight, killing the five New Zealanders and two Germans on board. The crew had been air-testing the plane before handing it back to Air NZ after a two year lease.
However, the French authorities say the second recorder is damaged and it is understood the first flight recorder holding voice recordings from the cockpit is also not in good condition. Both black boxes are now being analysed in Paris.
At the time of writing only two of the seven bodies from the crash have been found.
