Last chance for those trapped miners in Utah...
Further news of trapped miners in Utah, USA.
A narrow hole is being drilled in the side of the mountain in Utah,giving a possible last chance for six trapped miners.
They are still trapped 500 metres down in the mine after two weeks.
If searchers fail to find any sign of life as expected, the resue effort may be ended and the Crandall Canyon mine turned into a tomb.
The miners families would then be able to grieve, heal and move on from the tragic accident.

it is very sad...
there must be a way to prevent this or counter it better, it is an old problem.
Maybe a mini robot coring machines that miners could use to escape.
Better yet, mine only "open pit" style like most rock quarries?

As for moving on? I'm not so sure about that. That was such a sad accident.
The thing that gets me is people are placed in jeopardy all the time and there is little or no action to protect the people the business and the power of the almighty dollar seem to trump common sense and corrective action.
Only until a person gets hurt and then all the questions start getting asked and people start listening.
Why can't we listen sooner?
