Google Targets Pay Per Post

I just received this message pertaining to Google's attack on PPP

"There have been some recent changes that Google have made with regard to sponsored postings. Smorty would like to offer you some advice on this issue. Google has primarily targeted PayPerPost member blogs and reduced their Page ranks across the board. Although this WILL NOT REDUCE your rankings or readership, your blog will receive more campaign offers if it has a higher page rank. To prevent any future loss of page rank due to this issue you can take the following steps:

1. Remove all sponsored post tags on each of your posts. Google can follow these tags to determine if you are being paid for posts.
2. Remove any PayPerPost tags on your posts for "hire me" and "review me". Any general affiliate banners are fine to keep.

Hope this helps.

It was bound to happen...

since (unlike your posts) most of these posts are advertising with nothing to really lure in a reader.

The changes were radical and sudden, gracepub

one of my blogs that had maintained a consistent content amid the ads for more than a year at PR4 was dropped overnight to a 1. Your pointers are appreciated.

I just saw that message last

I just saw that message last night when I logged in to accept an opportunity. Thanks for the reminder; I wanted to make some of those changes.

Google is Implementing Quality Control

There are Blog Hosting sites where strings of Pay Per Posts are run by the same writer that block the other members from the "Home" page that enables them to have chance of receiving some page views from readers that chance upon the Website from the general Internet.
Most of these have misleading "tease" titles that are intended to trick viewers into reading poorly written advertisements.
There are a couple of blog hosting sites where the readership has dropped drastically because the majority of the posts there are Pay Per Posts. At the least they should be entertaining so that the reader gets something out of it. This may be why the rate of ads viewed is declining across the Internet.
