Sickened & Saddened!

For several years I lived in the small South Texas town of Alvin. Our two oldest graduated from high school there. It is a nice little community in which to raise kids. It is where Nolan Ryan grew up. Despite being near Houston, it has maintained its small rural town atmosphere.

So I was sickened and saddened this week as a story unfolded about a little boy whose body was found dumped on Galveston Island. The investigation led to the police believing that the boy's dad had killed and discarded the four month old. Yesterday we found out that the way the child was killed was by having his father stomp his head four times, till he felt the skull crush.

Unbelieveable!
I am sure there is a community sense of grief, and puzzlement over how such a thing could happen there. I wonder what impact it will have on the residents.

reproducing; does not mean they should be allowed to reproduce. There are both men and women, who abuse their spouses, children, and/or pets on a daily basis; but, until someone is killed or seriously injured no one is willing to step in and do anything about it.
The sad thing is; that the people who are the most abusive are the ones who argue and fight for their "right" to have children AND state that it is NO ONE else's business WHAT they do to "THEIR" kids or in their homes. And, they also fight to preserve their "right" to abuse their spouses and pets.
As long as they can afford to pay lawyers to back them up in court, every effort to protect these victims will fail under costly lawsuits.
All we can do, as individuals, is be observant and be willing to stand up for the victims and file reports to the authorities on the behalf of the victim - no matter what the cost is to ourselves.
If we do not, we are just as guilty of the act as the abuser.

This is really sad...

We need to better understand what leads a person to be so abusive.

I've been trying to speak out against the abuses that I've suffered and the indoctination that is passed along through the religious paths that lead the followers of many religions to act out in such acts of aggression.

Call it religious indignation or the fight against religious extremism both sides of the situation create violent creatures ready to fight at the drop of a word to violate another victim.

Victims of abuse, they all suffer and I know all too well what it is like to be tormented.

An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere.

that abuse of children is not really worse than abuse of anyone who is powerless to protect themselves, regardless of age.
Unfortunately savagery is not limited ot one segment of the world's population or one ideology.
