Websites are Evolving into Competitive Social Networks. Now that there are is a website being operated by individual Republicans (that is, not directly sponsored by the Republican National Committee.)  Being independent of the political party leadership is important because the Republican Party traditionally has been run as a "top down" organization, like a corporation.

Our technology should give Republican activists the ability to connect with fellow activists at the (voters) precinct level. we must encourage the growth of standalone volunteer communities, giving them he tools to organize themselves online, wtth the official party taking a step back and not trying to control them.

The Democrats website mybarackobamadotcom recently had a "House Party" night where members could get together to discuss what policies the new administration in Washington DC should concentrate on. Orlando, Florida is known as the family vacation destination in the United States with the Aquatica and Sea World water parks and Universal Studios with it's movie and The Simpson's rides that provides employment for residents of the Orlando area, many of which registered Democratic and voted out the Republican Party who have dominated Central Florida politics for decades.

With it's Social Network Website the Obama campaign staff can continue to communicate with the volunteers that went door-to-door in their communities to persuade their neighbors to vote for  Obama and being credited with getting-out-the-vote in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania, traditionally Republican (Red) states.
