Robo-Calls

paid for by Republican Candidate.  Quotes from an informative article in the Orlando Sentinel  by Mark K. Matthews Washington Bureau, August 20, 2008
Republican Congressman Tom Feeney, U.S. House District 24,  Florida is the perpetrator of thirty-second Robo-Calls to thousands of Democratic voters.
For the second straight election, Tom Feeny from Oviedo "lawmaker' is making a nuisance of himself by paying for the irritating Robo-Calls to voters that registered to vote in the "Democratic Party's" Primary Election.
"Clint Curtis is the only Democrat taking on Tom Feeney that has consistently opposed the iraq war. ..Clint Curtis also wants to protect Social Security."
Feeney has done this in a previous election! describing Clint Curtis as a "progressive and supportive of women's reproductive rights."
The reason Feeney does this is twofold: The 24 district is the product of "Gerrymandering" (aren't they all?) and majority Republican registered voters, as if that isn't enough of "the fix is in" situation, Feeny has defeated Clint Curtis by a large majority in the afore mentioned election and wants to face the weakest opposition candidate in November.
Feeney fears Suzanne Kosmas the leading Democratic Candidate who as a former state legislator has name recognition with a public that might be thinking about turning many Republican Congressmen out to earn a honest living like the rest of us are forced to.
The shifty Feeney  is paying 9 cents a call to pester registered Democrats with the Detested Robo-Calls. Maybe his true goal is to have Democrats not re-register to vote after they move, so as not to be bothered with the irritating interruptions that are programmed to call when you are most likely to be home!
We have discovered the name of the local telephone "service" (they are usually "telepests"  (like Vivary in Winter Park, Florida) that become even more persistent pests during every election, who when told that "We are on the Do Not Call List" say "Oh, but were exempt from that list because were calling on behalf of a political candidate."  Once, we ferret out (ferrets should be legal pets in California!) the owners telephone number, we call them up and specifically ask them not to call us, as we are paying for the telephone and are exercising our private property rights.
