and Stalked by a reporter from The National Enquirer, John Edwards political career may by finished.
As Russian tanks continue to roll into Georgia the broadcast, print and Internet medias are continuing to shake the John Edwards "Campaign Worker Affair" story like a pit bull with a shoe in it's mouth, getting the last bit of pleasure out of it as it is torn to shreds in it's powerful jaws.
The resurgence of Russia as a major power on the European Continent is playing out as the world is watching the Olympics in Beijing, China. The Russian Army and Air force, newly equipped thanks to the country's control of the pipelines of natural gas and crude oil  to Western Europe and the rocketing of world oil prices in the last few years is rolling into Georgia from two entry points, a classic "Pincer Movement' while the United States can talk about  the UN taking limited action and, aside from airlifting Georgian troops back home, there appears that there is nothing the US can do about the Russian invasion.
Everybody now is aware that John Edwards was involved with a lady not his wife, that she has an infant with a birth certificate line for "Father" blank.
The lady, Rielle Hunter, a private citizen, was staying in a room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when it was staked out by several employees of The National Enquirer.  We saw a segment on FOX News where the reporter, accompanied by a FOX interviewer and a camera person roamed from the lobby, up the elevators, down the hallway and ended-up in front of that very room where John Edwards was  confronted by the reporter.
The first though that came to mind was "where is the hotel security? We have been running around the block of a Hyatt hotel when we saw the security executive checking the receiving dock and employee entrance doors. This is the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel and a camera crew is wandering around the hallways, video lighting brightly showing the way and hotel security is nowhere in sight?
It not like Ms. Hunter is an elected official, nor was John Edwards when this series of meeting with her took place. When you are paying the rate at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, or any lesser hotel doesn't the guests have the right to privacy on the premises? What about the right to a safe place to sleep?
That The National Enquirer would condone a private citizen being spyed-on while conducting activities that (while they may be distasteful)  are not illegal, stalked and confronted while going about his way is unconscionable.
The broadcast, print and Internet media are saying What if John Edwards was the Presidential Candidate, the Democratic Party would be...John Edwards is not the candidate though but a private citizen who has had his privacy rights violated.
