Think Bankruptcy

and what comes to mind? A lazy person that didn't work hard enough to achieve the American Dream of a house and a new car? Someone that didn't get enough education to be employable in the New American Economy of temporary jobs and offshore manufacturing of our daily consumer product needs, everything from shoes to toothpaste?
Think Bankruptcy, and what comes to mind is the American financial system, run by Harvard MBA's (like President Bush) now seeking loan guarantees underwritten by the United States Government (actually by We the People, who are going to be on the hook for the payback through our income taxes.)
As this is being written, the Secretary of the Treasury, the head of the Federal Reserve Bank and the Congressional leaders are working to "craft legislation" to "bail out" some of the largest financial institutions of our country.
Keep in mind that a couple of years ago these same legislators "crafted legislation" applying stricter rules on bankruptcy for We the People that are victims of the Free Trade Agreements  that they negotiated in favor of American corporations and their not enforcing the immigration laws. Now Americans have to take and pay for "financial planning" classes as well as go through the court process to get relief from creditors. (Most of the consumer bankruptcies are created because Americans do not have adequate medical insurance.)
Concurrently, the Detroit auto industry is asking for billions of dollars of loan guarantees to underwrite the former "Big Three" of the American auto industry's revamping their production facilities; a re-engineering that will lead to less jobs due to the increased computerization of of manufacturing processes. It will be interesting to see how this industry is treated by the same government that is run by the "Free Market" eers of the Republican Party.
Update: September 27 The first of the Presidential Debates was held on Friday night at "Ol' Miss,"   The University of Mississippi where, in the 1950's,  Barack Obama would not have been able to attend college due to state-sanctioned racial discrimination.
The nationally televised forum was scheduled to be about "Foreign Policy" but since rthe broadcast, print and Internet media have been focusing on the "$700 Billion Bail-Out" of Wall Street and the American financial industry, 45 minutes of the alloted 90 minutes were focused on the financial crisis. (Which is the ultimate "National Security Issue.)
John McCain repeatedly began his statements with the phrase "Senator Obama doesn't understand..." as he repeated what he has been saying in his campaign appearrances and television ads.
Senator Obama also restated his early opposition to the Iraq war. The "debates" are going to be more recitation of the candidates now familar positions on the issues prior to the "Financial Crisis"
We are going to udadte this article as events develop.
As this Bailout of the Financial Industry continues it will have an effect on the Presidential Election;  the two dominant party's having similar policies in several areas of government regulation other than the "Rocket Scientists" creation of mortgage securities that are credited with creating the problems our economy is experiencing, Click:
